Let\u2019s Pack the House!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The\u00a0Long Arc of Justice Film Series<\/strong>\u00a0continues this month with a screening of\u00a0The River and the Wall<\/span>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>at Light Hall Theater on the WNMU campus on September 8.\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0River<\/em>\u00a0in the title is the Rio Grande, and the\u00a0Wall<\/em>\u00a0is the Trump Administration\u2019s destructive vanity project along our southern border.\u00a0\u00a0Although the film premiered in 2019, its subject could hardly be more pertinent today, as Wall construction continues apace, despoiling some of our most beloved public lands.It is brought to us by Silver City Indivisible’s Immigration Working group.<\/p>\n Of particular interest:<\/span>\u00a0the film\u2019s producer, Hillary Pierce, will offer us a post-screening Q & A at Light Hall.\u00a0\u00a0Given that admission to\u00a0the film is free, let\u2019s make it a point to fill the theater with locals who cherish the Rio Grande and want to act to preserve its integrity.\u00a0\u00a0The film will screen at\u00a06:30 PM on September 8<\/span>.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Please spread the word to friends and social-justice allies.<\/p>\n Trailer:\u00a0https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch? A small girl at that shelter had been badly burned by scalding water from a microwave accident and had to be rushed to a hospital for surgery. Funds were needed for medical care and family support. We were able to send a donation from the funds you have provided.
